Assigning and Blocking Documents
The Assigning & Blocking Documents feature ensures that warehouse users work only on documents assigned to them and prevents multiple users from processing the same document simultaneously. This avoids duplication of work and increases operational control.
There are two modes available, each controlled by separate scenario settings:
Self-Assigning Documents
Only Show Assigned Documents
1. Self-Assigning Documents
Allows users to assign documents to themselves directly from the WMS app, blocking others from seeing or processing those documents while they are assigned.
How to Enable:
In the Scenario Settings, turn on the switch:
“Allow self-assigning documents”
How It Works:
Users will see checkboxes next to unassigned documents in the document list.
A user can select one or multiple documents to assign themself.
Once selected, these documents are blocked for other users - they will not appear in other users’ document lists.
To release a document, the user can simply untick the checkbox, making it available again for others to assign.
Assigned document status is synchronized with SAP Business One, ensuring updates across the system .
2. Only Show Assigned Documents
Restricts users to work only on documents explicitly assigned to them in SAP Business One. Users cannot self-assign documents in this mode.
How to Enable:
In the Scenario Settings, turn on the switch:
“Only show assigned documents”
How It Works:
The document list will display only the documents assigned to the logged-in user.
Users cannot see or select any unassigned documents.
Document assignment must be done manually by a warehouse manager or SAP B1 user within SAP B1.
Important Notes:
Self-Assigning and Only Show Assigned Documents cannot be activated at the same time — these options are mutually exclusive.
Choose Self-Assigning if you want to allow warehouse staff to manage their own workload.
Choose Only Show Assigned Documents if document assignment is handled centrally (e.g., by a warehouse manager).
